Proposed Redevelopment Project at the President Country Club West Palm Beach

Most West Palm residents are familiar with the Presidential Country Club and the surrounding residential area known as the Lands of the President. The new owners of the Presidential Country Club have come up with grand new plans for the golf community of redeveloping the north course into a resort hotel, with a spa, residential homes, and some office space. This is the biggest mixed-use development undertaking since the creation of City Place in downtown West Palm Beach back at the turn of the century. The Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard corridor has been undergoing a few re-nourishment projects throughout the past couple of decades, the latest of which is revitalizing the Palm Beach Mall. The revitalization of the Palm Beach Mall is said to help open up the area to the need for a "flagship resort hotel". Redevelopment of the Presidential Country Club in West Palm is said to start on 119 acres of land on the Patriot course, formerly known as the north course. Featuring a 30,000 square foot golf clubhouse, a 30,000 square foot state of the art spa facility, a 400 unit hotel, a 50,0000 square foot conference center, 10,000 square feet of medical office space, 100 single family West Palm homes, and 200 West Palm Beach condos, this proposed project for the redevelopment of the Presidential Country Club is going to be a massive undertaking. The first phase of the redevelopment project will be to construct the hotel which will be a 5 story building that overlooks a large lake and the Eagle Course. Approval could take 9 months, and will require a series of re-zoning due to the multipurpose buildings that will become a part of the Presidential Country Club. Current residents of Lands of the President in West Palm Beach will be offered membership to the resort/country club community, and expanded lakes are being added to provide them with waterfront views as opposed to golf course views which so not seem to be too popular. The original project to redevelop this West Palm Beach community was proposed in mid-2012, and has finally gone through to the planning phases. This addition of West Palm Beach homes and condos will help boost the local real estate market, create jobs, and thus boost the overall economy.
